Lambton Shores Council met on July 19 for a regularly scheduled council meeting.

Lambton Shores Receives Funding Through FedDev Ontario

The Municipality of Lambton Shores has received $123,750 in funding from the Government of Canada through FedDev Ontario's Canada Community Revitalization Fund. The funding will support improvements at the Arkona Community Centre, including the addition of shaded seating areas and the resurfacing of the basketball court, which will transform the existing court into a versatile area that also includes a pickleball court.

Resident Feedback Needed for Forest Downtown Revitalization Program

With support from the Municipality of Lambton Shores, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) has launched a Downtown Revitalization program aimed at boosting the overall economic well-being of downtown Forest.
As part of the program, Forest residents are invited to complete an online resident survey to provide valuable insight on topics like shopping trends and local economic health. Results from the survey will help guide the direction and strategy of the local revitalization program.

Road Closure: Ravenswood Line Rehabilitation

The Municipality of Lambton Shores has started a construction project on Ravenswood Line between Lakeshore Road (Highway 21) and Northville Road. During the project, Ravenswood Line will be closed to all but local traffic. A detour route will be posted for the duration of the project.
The project includes culvert replacements and asphalt resurfacing. The expected completion date is September, 2022.
A letter was mailed to notify residents in the project area.

More than 350 by-law tickets issued, 87 OPP charges over long weekend

With an expected rise in calls for service, the Municipality had an increased By-Law Enforcement presence across Lambton Shores for the Canada Day long weekend.
Throughout the long weekend, Lambton Shores By-Law Enforcement issued a total of 388 tickets, with 291 for parking infractions and 97 tickets related to other by-law infractions. Tickets for parking infractions were issued primarily in Grand Bend, Port Franks, and Ipperwash.
